The fourth edition of "Sunday in bed" is assuming full risk according to Wolf Biermann's motto "Only by changing you can stay true to yourself"! That means a wild mix of styles, which at first glance seems to be incompatible for the expert, and then miraculously adds together in perfect harmony.
The series was specially designed for hedonists, who, after a night of love or full of alcohol or after a night full of love and alcohol, are lying "Sunday in bed" without any desire to face up to the requirements of the disdainful outside world .
"Sunday in bed" that's bedroompop in a pure form, as we understand the term pop in its original sense as "music for all", without a hint of snobbery or exclusiv claim.
"Sunday in bed 4" rewires a variety of styles and eras of pop music, in order to make transparent references and trends. An ambitious undertaking in a time, when the world is falling apart, not only sociologically, but also musically. Granted ... in the internet we found completely unknown titles on blogs or MySpace sites; we heard the actual sounds of the clubs and searched for the perfect track in old vinyl collections.
The music business is changing rapidly and with it also their value chains. We have licensed for this edition of "Sunday in bed" only one song from a major company: Universal kindly provided "This Momentary" of Delphic. So far, the relationship had been rather 50:50. We requested the other 27 songs on this double CD partly from the colleagues of the established independent labels, partly from small regional labels, pure net labels or directly from the artists, who are marketing themselves more and more.
The 28 songs on "Sunday in bed 4" have in common their top quality, uniqueness, creativity and of course their nonchalance, otherwise it wouldn't be anything for "bed".
